Brawl Stars for Android Official News

Brawl Stars Official Android APK News

Supercell has shed some light about the official release for Brawl Stars on Android and why they opted to keep the game’s initial soft launch away from the Android store. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn’t because Supercell wanted to keep Brawl Stars strictly for iOS.

Supercell explained that Brawl Stars is running out of local servers around the world. Right now, the only server that is in production is the server in Canada. Supercell explained that they do not have the servers ready for use to run Brawl Stars across the world…except for Canada.

Because of the way the Brawl Stars servers are set up around the world, Supercell did not want to include Android into the soft launch due to the fact that Android APK’s can be sent across the world. If this were to happen, Supercell’s Brawl Stars servers would be overloaded, causing a negative impact in the timeline for the actual Brawl Stars release date.

Supercell has stated that Brawl Stars is constantly changing due to the balances, updates and fine tuning they are doing to Brawl Stars during its soft launch. To put things in a timeline perspective, Clash Royale was soft launched in select countries on January 4, 2016 (Canada, Hong Kong, Australia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Finland and New Zealand for iOS only). Then Supercell soft launched an Android version of Clash Royale on February 16, 2016 in the same countries. Clash Royale launched globally on March 2, 2016.

We want to explain a little more in depth why we haven’t released a beta on Android, and why Brawl Stars is not available globally. We’ll try not to get too technical, and hopefully this gives some insight into our game plan.

Brawl Stars uses a unique system of local servers. This means that there would be different game environments based on your locale. Right now, the only live server is in Canada and we don’t have servers ready across the world. The nature of an Android APK is that it can be easily disseminated across the globe (and very quickly!) The games’ servers are not prepared for a global release, which is why we’re testing on iOS only right now.

Currently the game team is polishing, improving, changing, and testing Brawl Stars. All along the way we’re gathering information to see what players love, and what needs to be adjusted. Once the game team feels that we have enough information, and that the game is in excellent shape, that’s when we begin to think about a global release. We’re not there yet!

We’re so excited for everything that’s coming in Brawl Stars and we’re overjoyed to share this journey with you. Thank you for helping us improve the game, and we’ll see you back out there!
